Acolyte Ministry

The Acolyte Ministry stems from old testament times. The holy scriptures tell of the prophet Samuel assisting Eli the priest and of  Elijah being assisted by Elisha. Being an Acolyte is a special and fulfilling challenge. It takes special individuals to serve in front of the sanctuary filled with family, friends and neighbors. Each week these young men and women show their devotion to our church by serving at the Altar. Candidates must be willing, sincere, prompt, regular in attendance, alert to instructions and cooperative.
In addition to serving at the altar, the acolyte guild serves as host each year at our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. This is a lot of fun as well as hard work and it serves as our means to generate funds for an annual trip or play. We also gather together in the summer each year for a picnic to celebrate jobs well done by both our acolytes and their parents. We are always growing and encourage all who are interested to attend one of our meeting
