Satellite Pulpit in The Sky

Each night before
I go to bed,
Hit the pillow,
Rest my head,
I go on-line,
That is to say,
Open e-mails,
See what they say.
There's always one
From Dr. Chinn
A lesson in faith,
RX against sin,
A corny joke,
A bit of news,
Some New Testament insight
From Old Testament Jews,
A sermon,
A parable,
Derivation of a word
(what it meant in Aramaic,
Tongue of the Good Shepherd)
But now I learn
He will retire,
The cyber priest
Whose words inspire.
So as he settles
In at home,
I say thanks, salud,
Peace, shalom.
And hope the satellite pulpit
In the sky
Keeps pumpin' out e-mails
For all of us to live by.
