How do you say goodbye to a man who has been an inspiration to all of us? Maybe the truth is you don't!
On April 22, 2003 Dr. Chinn passed on unto lives next stage. He had been the rector at All Saints' for the last forty-three (43) years. In addition to his spiritual leadership, in which he was unsurpassable, he reestablished our day school, started Wednesday morning healing services, Saturday and Sunday evening serviced, pastor's class, junior choir, Psychological Counseling, Star Followers, and was involved in starting the original Quilters and Young at Heart.
With his foresight we progressed from a single copy once a week newsletter to a once-per-month published newsletter. Then two more monthly papers were added "The Kids Messenger" and "School News". Also a full computer system was installed replacing archaic handwritten legers. On the computer, he established an outreach program to people around the world. We moved from the twenty century to the twenty-first and he was still planning ahead always concerned for the Church's future.
A better friend you could not find. If you needed him he was there, sometimes before you yourself realized your problems. When he left, you felt refreshed and willing to face the world with all it's problems.
So, how do you say goodbye? You don't! You just sit back and enjoy the things he has given us during his time and say
"THANK YOU GOD, WE KNEW HIM".
"Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Others stay a while and leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same."
