The Parish Health/Wellness Committee is a new group which is developing a program whose focus will be on health promotion within the context of the beliefs, values and practices of our faith community.
In general, the program may provide health education, health counseling, health referrals, facilitate health volunteers and/or play a major role in the integration of religion and medicine. Volunteers, both health care providers and lay persons, are needed to serve on the committee.
Please note, this is not a "hands-on" nursing care program. Can you provide health teaching on certain topics, escort a parish member to a doctor's appointment and/or act as their advocate? Visit a member at home or hospital? If you can do any of the above, we need you!
